What does the word "Andalusia" mean in academic contexts?

However, in the course description below, three parcels of land are mentioned and the first two are very large regions. It seems unlikely that the third one would be merely a small part of Spain.

As for academic contexts, I suspect that there's a wide variety of them, including military-style prep school, and small, New Age religious classes.

Does wikipedia provide information about what academic authorities at all such places mean when they use the word "Andalusia"?

Various religious, political, and philosophical ideologies are popular among academics today. Does wikipedia provide warning about how an adherent of such an ideology might react to what is, according to that ideology, a misuse of the word "Andalusia"?

5. Andalusia is the region in red, but Al Andalus was almost all of

modern Spain at the height of the arab expansion from around 700 - 1200. At the same time as the alleged "dark ages" of western europe, this region was a center of civilization, carrying on directly from the Roman Empire it replaced in North Africa, Iberia, and the Middle East. Between the Caliphate and Byzantium our civilization was not only preserved but actually progressed while we were trying to learn how to be human again.
