6th Grade today at my daughters' school.(Daughters graduated years ago.) |

How many planets does it take to support YOUR lifestyle? 6th graders watched the National Geographic film Human Footprint in class, then took the Global Footprint Network's Personal Footprint quiz for Science homework. This opening "Biodiversity and Sustainability" unit gets students thinking about their personal impact on the planet. Our Science Coordinator was very surprised by how many planets support his lifestyle. Measure your footprint at www.footprintnetwork.org (select "Footprint Calculator" under Resources). Did anything surprise you?
