Grading system in British upper secondary schools? |
|
I got a question from two of my students today about what kind of grading system they use in British upper secondary schools, and I have to admit that I don't know. I can tell them about the American system in detail, naturally, but the British? Not so much. I know that the Scottish have their own school system, but do they also grade differently?
I know I should do my own research, but my mom is in hospital for a heart attack, and so I just don't have time. These students are Norwegian vocational students, so I doubt their English is good enough to research on their own.
DU, you're my only hope!

1. My daughter was enrolled in the British-based Cambridge program |
|
at her high school. Their tests were sent to England to be graded. Grades went A through G. H was totally failing - a zero on the testing. Here's the kind of scale they used:
Ours Theirs A A B+ B B C C+ D C E D+ F D G F H
Again, this was the high school based Cambridge program, so I'm not sure if that's all schools in Britain or not.
