OK, it's good they rejected it, but sad that they're going to re-do the proposal and change the language.
The Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy rejected a proposed rule Wednesday that would have allowed pharmacists to not fill prescriptions based on their personal beliefs.
Board members voted 3-0 to reject the change, but said they planned to reconsider the rule with different language at their next meeting in February.
Board members insisted they set out to protect patients by proposing the change.
The board, made up of three voting members and three ex-officio members, received more than 100 letters and listened to 15 people on Wednesday opposed to the proposal. http://www.billingsgazette.com/index.php?id=1&display=rednews/2005/10/05/build/wyoming/39-pharm-ethics.incBut this statement:
Board member Randy Harrop said the intent of the proposal was to protect patients. How are they protecting patients, exactly, by denying them medications that the pharmacists objects to solely because of his or her own personal beliefs? What a fuckwit. He needs to have his licensed stripped if he actually thinks this.
