The Giants executed a pair of long-anticipated moves Tuesday by extending the contracts of general manager Brian Sabean and manager Bruce Bochy through 2013 with club options for 2014.
The moves maintained the continuity that the Giants have enjoyed in their baseball operations department. Sabean, entering his 16th season in his position, is the longest tenured active general manager in the Major Leagues.
Bochy, who piloted the San Diego Padres for 12 years before joining the Giants prior to the 2007 season, approaches his 18th consecutive season as a manager -- more than any of his counterparts, now that St. Louis' Tony La Russa has retired.

After all, they did bring SF it's first World Series title. I sure wish Sabean hadn't given up Zack Wheeler for Beltran though. Now the Mets have what was the Giants top pitching prospect and the Giants have nothing. Which is why you don't deal top prospects for rent a players..I'd sure hate to see someone like Gary Brown be next..
