7. The Huskers really haven't looked too good this season at all

some flashes, some luck, sustained drives once in a while, but nothing to give the fans confidence. Nothing to make BELIEVERS out of anyone.

Watching Bo Pelini fume and throw hissy tantrums on the sideline is the only consistent thing. And I gotta believe that shit ultimately rubs the players the wrong way. So this 'upset' ain't as surprising as, say, the Huskers victory over the Spartans last week.

But watch out for next year. This is a young team -- and most of Big Red will be back, older, more mature, and ready...

We'll see if they can bounce back next week in Happy Valley...they might. But, still...

9. Props to the Northwestern U. Wildcats

Somebody's gotta say it. They came to play. They earned an upset victory over Nebraska the old fashioned way: four quarters of tough, hard-nosed and strategically smart football. Their offense took apart the Blackshirts, and led the game in all 4 quarters. Northwestern's D - and Nebraska's f*ckups - kept Nebraska's sputtering offense safely at bay, even though they had a huge Big Red saturated crowd to try and boost their spirits. Good game, Wildcats.
