Thanks Boston!
72 penalty minutes? That's great, our team needed power play practice anyway.

18. I really hate that guy.
I'm going to admit that during the draft where we got Skinner, I was praying for Gudbranson to fall into the Canes laps just so he could body Ovie into a sack of hamburger.

I'm glad it worked out better for the Canes, Skinner's a superstar in the making...but I'd have paid airfare to Raleigh 6? times a year to watch the big guy paste Ovie's fat smirk all over the boards.

I really wish the Canes had one of that kind of D-man, the hulking big guy that plays lockdown D, loves to hit things and quick feet...like a Gudbranson or Chara. I'd settle for another Ulf Samuelsson.

11. Do they ever whip out their Whalers throwbacks?
Believe it or not, I am entangled with another 'Canes fan on FB, (she's here on rare occasion) and I suggested that when they recently hosted the reborn Winnipeg Jets. Go for it, Brass Bonanza and all!

17. As a former Whalers fan, that's not quite fair.
There's plenty of blame but it all belongs hung around the neck of Petey K...preferably while being beaten like a pinata! In my ongoing bid to accentuate the positive, not being in HFD has probably saved the life of Paul Maurice, the Joel Schumacher/Uwe Boll of NHL coaches. You wonder why/how anybody keeps paying these guys to be absolutely terrible and without any benefit in their professions, yet they remain working. Maurice belongs in a broadcast booth or selling mattresses, not behind a bench.

It's okay. The league seems to be realizing and working towards undoing the mistakes of the Bettman era...if MN and Winnipeg can get teams back after fixing the underlying issues, so someday will Hartford. It's not like the whole Rangers/Bruins territorial split has worked for the league...most of Hartford hates both the Rangers and Bruins with a passion. NY and Bos can claim territorial rights over CT but it is a farce and everybody knows it will have to be conceded eventually that neither team has any significant fan/market-penetration...nor likely ever will. There are still more Canes fans than fans of either the Bruins or Rangers.
