Amid all the high-scoring games, mesmerizing quarterback performances and resuscitated franchises, one constant has been missing from the NFL this season: the diva wide receiver.
With Randy Moss retired, Terrell Owens out of the game while he recovers from offseason knee surgery, and Chad Ochocinco now in lock-step with the Bill Belichick regime in New England there’s a sudden dearth of drama among the league’s elite wideouts.
If Owens has his way, that may change much sooner than most expect.
In an interview with ESPN’s equally dramatic Stephen A. Smith on Wednesday, Owens said he could return to the league in “a month or less.”
