Can someone tell me why Sparano is still around?

Him and his cronies were brought in with the intended effect of turning the team around. 4 years later, they have failed to produce anything resembling a professional level football team. You can pin this on Henne all you want, but think of this: the coaches job is to develop a quarterback. When you have a team with three similar playing styles, all failing to produce results, that then becomes an issue of coaching. God it becomes more and more and more difficult to be a Dolphins fan every week.

Absolutely nothing pointed toward a decent season. Henne years are wasted years. The defense was guaranteed to regress to the mean since they aren't top players to begin with. Last season you had a CFL refugee hailed as a savior. And this year the big pickup was Kevin Burnett, a guy who spent his first four seasons as a backup.

Jeff Ireland has no idea what he's doing. He's provided virtually zero impact players. When I was a kid this was the Miami lineup, from quarterback to coach to general manager to owner to stadium:

Griese -- Shula -- Beathard -- Robbie -- Orange Bowl

Now it's replaced by this comedy:

Henne -- Sparano -- Ireland -- Ross -- Sun Life

I know how to evaluate the big picture. There's no chance with a combo like that.
