Great performances by top 5 draft picks |
|
Cam Newton looks great. Yes, I know it is the Cardinals but he is making play after play, making the right decisions on where to go with the ball. He had the presence of mind on one play by throwing towards a receiver as he was falling down. I don't see many QBs getting a 400+ passing performance against them unless they have Aaron Rodgers or Roethlisberger(QBs like them) on the schedule.
Patrick Peterson is playing some lock down defense, Steve Smith has burnt him a few times but Smith has done this to corners better than him. Peterson also has the longest punt return in Cardinals' franchise history.
It is so nice to see the Cardinals execute and actually look like a team after the nightmare performances from last season.

1. If you lose it's not a great performance |

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

2. That is simply not true. |

His performance kept Carolina in the game, and gave them a chance to win. A chance they would not have without Cam. He can't block, play defense, or cover kicks. BTW, he set an NFL record for rookie quarterbacks -- 422 yards passing.

4. Appreciate the scouting report |

I was wondering how Newton would look. We had 49ers/Seahawks in the Bay Area, of course.
