and both were members of the Inklings. Some religious people today might be completely batshit nuts, but that doesn't mean they always have been or ever that every religious person today is crazy.

They used to tease one another about their respective fictional works, which must have made their pub conversations intriguing to neighbors. Both were old-school Christians who believed in "Walking the Talk", unlike the grandstanding Xtians that plague our public discourse today.
