The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. |
|
http://www.amazon.com/Immortal-Life-Henrietta-Lacks/dp/1400052173This book has been on my "list" for a while now, and I still haven't had the time to read it and not sure when I will. But I heard a great interview with the author on Fresh Air on NPR today, so I thought I'd share it with you all. http://www.npr.org/2011/03/18/134622044/tracing-the-immortal-cells-of-henrietta-lacks:hi:

Really opens up that proverbial can of worms about privacy and, more importantly what truly belongs to us, doesn't it?

8. It is just an incredible story, isn't it? |
|
And it reads so easily, she doesn't get bogged down in all the science and makes things perfectly understandable to anyone. And the story itself is just astounding! And sad, too. I'm just 110 pages in and already this woman seems so familiar.
