St. Martin's Press NY - Criticism |
|
I've been reading Nightwalkers by P. T. Deutermann, and I think it's a pretty good book. But reading it became very tedious and I started just skimming the descriptions of locations, etc., because it was a strain and difficult to concentrate, so I mainly started to just read the dialogue (which was good).
Why am I frustrated? Because the effin print was too damned light. I tried to enjoy the story, and did, to a certain extent, but it was a chore, and I also didn't like the font.
I compared it to the books I have on hand by these authors: Larrson, Lehane, Mankell, Dobbs, Preston-Child, George, and Rita Mae Brown. Without exception every one of these books had darker print and a friendlier font than Deutermann's.
