17. I read that earlier this year and liked it very much. Towards the |
end, the understory kind of got in the way and I remember skimming parts. There was a lot of interesting history, though, and having lived in Utah for awhile, it spoke to me.

2. I have enough of the Patrick O'Brian Aubrey/Maturin series (21) to |
keep me reading them for the next year. A guilty pleasure.

Never read it but thought with all the Vampire hype out there that I'd go back to the original source.
(And it's a $0.99 download on Amazon for the the Kindle.)

4. The Book of Genesis, Illustrated by R. Crumb |
The Books: Fiction category fits quite nicely. I love Crumb's work and hope he does all Old and New Testament.

10. Finishing "Cryptonomicon." |
It has recently been keeping me up late, which is bad for me but a great review for the book. Should be done pretty soon.

16. Hey HW. I'm still reading that one, too. As I said earlier, it was |
slow going for me at first, but now...it's wonderful. So much history that I need to investigate, esp. the parts about the Bonus Army. Let me know when you get to that part.

and it's interesting so far. I'll get back to you on the Bonus Army section. :hi:

13. "Notes from a Small Island" by Bill Bryson is my "purse" book |
and it's a laugh-out-loud funny account of a long-time American expat journeying around the UK.
My current bedside book is Midnight Fugue by Reginald Hill, the latest in the Dalziel and Pascoe series, about a hilariously raunchy Yorkshire police detective and his university-educated partner.
