A 56-year-old Louisville man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 12-year-old boy who was ringing doorbells and running away in the Glenmary area of southeastern Jefferson County Monday night.
Michael Bishop, of the 8000 block of Hall Farm Drive, was charged with attempted murder.

Witnesses told police that a group of children had been playing a game in which they would run up to a home, ring the doorbell or knock and then run away.
According to his arrest citation, witnesses said Bishop came out onto his porch with a shotgun and pointed it in the direction of the children and then fired, striking the victim.

"I think there were some other kids who had been ringing his doorbell before he got mad, came out and didn't even warn the kids," added Jim Natsis.
A witness told police that a man emerged from Bishop's front door, stood on the porch, racked the shotgun and then fired.
"The kids started scattering," Natsis said, "ran into the houses and told the parents."
"Oh gosh, probably had 200 (pellet wounds)," McDowell recalled, "looked like he took 75 percent of the blast. And his head was bleeding to where they had to hold towels on it. It wasn't good. Just make you sick."
