High School Lockdown Cancelled After Package Detonated
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Mountain Ridge High School at 67th Avenue and Deer Valley Road in Glendale was placed on lockdown Friday morning while police investigated a suspicious package.
The package, which appeared to be a box with wires inside, was found near one of the buildings on campus. That building was evacuated and the students inside were moved to the football field.
The Glendale Police Department's bomb squad detonated the package and determined it was not a threat.
The students returned to the building and the lockdown was cancelled around 9:45 a.m.
