Recruiting Randi Rhodes & Mike Malloy for Current TV |
|
I have started a facebook page to try to get Current TV to put Randi Rhodes & Mike Malloy on the TV. Please check it out and like if you agree with the idea. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Put-Randi-Rhodes-and-Mike-Malloy-on-Current-TV/247906368589219?sk=wall&filter=2MariaS

2. With all due respect to both... |

I do not see this as a good fit at all. For one thing, I can remember one hell of a lot of vitriol from RR in reference to Keith Olbermann over the years... She has her talents, certainly, but her ego often fails to find a "filter" when it comes to professional jealousy (her long simmering similar hatred towards Al Franken, likewise comes to mind). So that would seem a non-starter from the get-go.
Mike, for all his passion, may likewise be a bit strident for what Gore and Olbermann are trying to build. Just sayin...

Both can come off as just being angry, and will go off on someone or something without hesitation. And, a sincerely doubt that Current TV would welcome 'Bounce Your Boobies' on their airwaves.
And, to some extent, both really rely on callers to gin up their talking points.

say whatever they like but liberals are expected to tone it down. I'm sick of nicey nicey. I personally want to watch someone scream out the frustration that I feel for the state of this country.

but as one whose experience with both RR and MM dates back to the initiation and "halcyon" days of Air America Radio, I have to agree with those who can not continue a constant diet of same. A constant dose of even the most righteous umbrage goes a long ways.
Not to draw direct comparisons, by any means, but even the teabaggers' constant acrimony has lost them nearly all support--given recent polls. To this point, Roger Ailes has realized that his Faux crew have to dial it back--as the audience demand for angry presentation peaked long ago.
I remember, btw, when MM had a semi-regular gig on CNN and RR had the occasional guest spot on CNN and MSNBC... Sometimes to good effect.... more often to very mixed effect... No matter how righteous the argument and passion, audio and visual media are really different. What works in one media doesn't always translate to an often distinctly different audience and the expectations of tv.

6. Also would love to see John Fugelsang get a show |
|
He is part of The Sexy Liberal Show, currently touring with Stephanie Miller & Hall Sparks. His biblical knowledge is great and a good antidote to the wing nut crazies.
