Hey, CNN. Oprah's announcement is NOT the top of the news |
|
and does not merit a full five minutes, or so, at the top of the hour.
Perhaps you should remove the N for News from your name and replace it with fluff, or fuzz, or what have you. Same holds for the N in HLN.
I remember some years ago I was expressing my anger at the local gym or replacing then "Headline News" with... fox. We just moved to this suburb and little did I know that Fox was king there. The manager of that branch apologized, said that they got a lot of requests for Fox.
Now between Noon and 4:00 PM Eastern, another branch does broadcast HLN which at first I liked. I can't stand Rick Sanchez. But it has barely 10 min of news in a half hour segment. Long celebrities talking about the disease of the week - again and again - and promos for Nancy Grace, that View woman, Larry King and others.
On CNN itself, the only news are on the tape running at the bottom of the screen. I really am not interested in the calls and iReport and twits etc. And, in many cases, that image of a telephone with someone's voice are on both CNN and HLN.

2. look on the bright side ... |
|
it takes away from Palin book signing footage ...
but then, they could just toss in some footage from Berlin in the 1930s ... same crowd, just a tad more formal then ...

3. You know, I was thinking that for Palin to appear on Oprah was just perfect |
|
It is Oprah who introduced the "let it all out." No shame, no sense of privacy. It started with Oprah and now, of course, all the "social" sites. People just go public and whine about how miserable they are, how badly they have been treated by family and friends, never take responsibility for their decisions... just like the theme of Palin's book.
