Fox News? Too many complaints.
Edited on Fri Jun-05-09 10:52 AM by wurzel
I just joined our community center gym. They have those exercise bikes with a row of TV screens in front. The instructor was showing me how to use the audio so I could choose which screen to listen to. I remarked that I didn't really care what I watched as long as is isn't Fox. She just grinned at me and said we don't put Fox on much because we get too many complaints. Incidentally our local Congressman is Republican.

1. Somebody convinced them
to put it (Faux Noise) on in the cafeteria a couple of days a week but after two weeks they shut it back off. Too many complaints, including mine, actually turned it back to CNN.

3. My college cafeteria resident dining hall
We have two televisions installed. I determined that only CNN and ESPN was to be show on either unless a major local sporting event was being show.
Occasionally, I would come in in the morning and find some kids watch a syndicated sit-com. No problem, they get up and I return the TV to the news.
Other mornings, kids will have changed the channel to FOX. I will ask, "who put the cartoons on?" and change it to CNN.
Then I wait in the corner of the DR with the remote in case they try to change it back.

Fun with morans.

4. We have gremlins at our gym who turn every TV in the lockeroom to Fox
There are 4 flat panels in the mens locker room.

Background -- I am in the bluest county of a blue state.

I just switch them to ESPN.

5. CNN Now in my pharmacy
I was in to get a refill a month ago and the TV channel in the waiting area was set to Fox with some right wing idiot on there saying people would really be happier without health care coverage at all. I got hot and started up a conversation with another woman, who I found agreed with me about Fox. When I got my prescription I told the pharmacist waiting on me what I thought about them having Fox News on (the guy appeared to be from a Middle Eastern country incidentally, someone Fox wouldn't want on an airplane, pharmacist or not!). The pharmacist was non-committal on the TV, but the last two times I have been in the pharmacy the channel has been set on CNN.

There is good reason to complain! I am willing to bet I wasn't the only one.

7. CNN, yuck.
They're going out of their way to make that a dull, completely uncontroversial, opinion-free outlet.

I'll take MSNBC, except on weekends, when they have their creepy Lockup fests.

6. But it's fun to watch Glenn Beck bark and run around on all fours!
Gretchen Carlson has crazy face, too, and can bring the goofy.
