Tell me about the POTUS station on XM/SIRIUS radio. Is it right wing? |
|
It's recently been added to Sirius from XM. It seems to try to attempt to be balanced, but it seems slanted right to me.
I've heard them have extended shows that were direct rebroadcasts of FOX News, but not of, say MSNBC or Air America.
I've heard RWer Ron Silver actually have his own show there, but not any liberal personality.
I heard a lengthy broadcast from CPAC that was by RW media outlet Pajamas Media today. I haven't heard a liberal commentator's broadcast coverage of CPAC or any Democratic event for that matter.
I've heard them have both liberal and conservative guests, and I've heard their anchor/hosts express non right wing views, but the Right definitely seems to get more of an actual platform on the station.
Anyone with a longer familiarity with POTUS care to enlighten me?

when it was indie.talk on Sirius 110, it was a lot more non-partisan talk, although the hosts: Vinnie Politan (sp), Ron Silver, and Pete Dominick (sp) were right of center. It was supposed to be a bridge from Patriot 144 and Left 146. Now it's as you decribed it and it's off my presets.
If I were programming Left 146, I would do this:
6-9A Alex Bennett 9-12N Stephanie Miller 12-3P Ed Schultz or Thom Hartmann (live) 3-6P Ed Schultz or Thom Hartmann (taped) 6-9P Make It Plain w/Mark Thompaon 9-12M Mike Malloy 12-6A whatever (not the show on Martha 112), repeat programming, Air America, Nancy Skinner, etc.
Lynn Samuels has weekend shows only, Dave Marash and Mike Fader continue, and air Ring of Fire on the weekends.

2. I've been listening for over a year |
|
I think Joe Mathieu and Tim Farley in the morning are awesome.
It's very informative and news driven programming that I find to be legit when they claim to be centrist.
I can't stand Ron Silver, so I've never listened to that war mongerer.
As of late, when I want coverage of an actual event I tend to go to C-SPAN radio, but POTUS is my 2nd choice.

3. Is that channel still broad cast? I drop XM in January, so I dunno. I listen to it on and off for th |

6 months it was broad cast. I was defiantly right leaning. It played a lot of Reagen love-fest stuff, with no relation to the 2008 election. And gave BS rehashes of trickle down economics. It ran about 20% wish washie CNN fake neutral stuff. Most of the rest of it was right wing stuff. I did catch one interesting interview with John Zogby of Zogby Polling. Probably unintentional he gave away that he put a + Republican fudge factor, favoring republicans in election polling based on the idea that republicans answered the phone less often than democrats, or i.e. he pulled it out of his ass. I hadn't realize before I heard him there that, despise calling himself a democrat, he really leans right.
I thouhg the channel would be discontinued after the election. I took it off my presets eventually.
