For a long time, BBC World Service and BBC Radio 4 have produced the program
"From Our Own Correspondent," a 25/30 minute magazine made up of reports from
BBC reporters around the world. The program comes out on Saturdays and for half
the year, also on Thursdays---different programs both days, every week.
The program's web site is:

do an iTunes search)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/fooc/Of particular interest this past week were two stories, one being that Russian
journalists, are routinely shot dead in the street and nothing happens. The other
story, from India about a 'lower caste' Indian man who strips naked and enters
India's antique sewer system to clean it with his bare hands---he says he's lucky
to have a job since he's of the lowest caste in India. (Both stories have
applicability to what we're seeing now in the US---an elite that is taking
charge of everything, including prospects for working Americans, and a government
that is more detached from Americans than ever before.).
In general, BBC Radio 4 is a great resource, and you can see what they program each
day from their web site and listen live via the 'net ...some programs are podcast also.
Good day!
