I'm a newby to politics
Just learing really, kicked in during GW's 2nd term really. Turned from Indy to left leaning, progressive.

For those more learn'ed than I, how much sway, or how much 'say' did the minority Dems get in Legislation during 2000-2004? I realize some of them voted with the Repugs for the War, and you have your Blue Dog A-holes like Ben Nelson likely voting for the Bush Tax Cuts, but how much true, liberal, progressive, left leaning legislation was passed, or even helped 'water down' the GOP's bills during this time period?

I'm looking for a comparison essencially between how the GOP has killed, watered down, obstructed or just bad mouthed the lefts ideas when they had majority power, versus what the left really got done along the same lines when the righties were in power?
