I have been pissed off for a while because of Obama's pussy footing about a strong public option health care reform ... but today I am frothing from the mouth I am so, so angry. Today I see on TV that Obama is in Wisconsin talking to students "mocosos" about education :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: it was all inspirational, all right, etc...:eyes: :eyes: :eyes: What the hell is he doing in Wisconsin in front of snotty students talking about their future when what is needed is a strong "a la Lyndon Johnson" address to the democratic Congress about the necessity of a strong public option health care ... Boy! I am surely sorry that Hillary is not the POTUS...   and what makes me sadder and madder is how he has failed Teddy who went out of his way ALL OVER THE COUNTRY campaigning for him and appeared publicly for him even as he was very ill...I can cry my heart out ... :kick: :kick: :kick: :kick: :grr: :grr: :grr:
mocosos = Spanish term of endearment to young children, "snotty" :grr:

2. Obama rightfully deserves criticism on health care and other matters of late, but...... |

..... this chimera that Hillary Clinton would have somehow been more progressive or different (I suspect her cabinet would look almost identical) needs to stop. It's delusional at best.

Bot at least Hillary might not have been as nice to the Rethugs and more entertaining while doing the wishes of corporate America. We elected a capitalist and we'll get capitalist solutions (or should I say non solutions). Lets see we've been kicking social security around for thirty years and adjusted for inflation its paying out less than half--(thank especially to Bill Clinton-who finished what Ronnie started). As long as we have corporations in politics-and I see see no way to eliminate this, because if you you make it illegal they will do what they always do-break the law and hire lots of lawyers. From Tea Pot Dome to Blackwater even if they get caught they never go to jail. This whole thing about if we only elected this one or that one it would fix the problem is just nonsense having elected this one and that one my whole life with the same results. Its the capitalist machine that is wrong and no amount of tinkering will fix it because its doing what its designed to do-concentrate wealth and power. If we start a third party(progressive socialist) we split off enough votes for the big money to lock it up like they did from 1994 to 2006, So here we are screwed again. I'm seriously considering leaving this failed state.

sure, that is why she has been hated so intensely and accused of being to the left of Mao ...:sarcasm: Marmar, I guess you are young and or behind the time... And I insist that if she had been the Potus, the health care bill would have been passed before Teddy passed instead of playing footsie with the frigging repugs! :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: The traitorous action to Teddy makes me want to cry...

7. Susan Collins is accused of being left of Mao by the Mad Dog Right, it means nothing.... |

Hillary is a DLC centrist....and to her credit, she's never pretended not to be. And, if you saw 'SiCKO', you saw that she went from being the major force for health reform to the largest recipient in the Senate of health insurance campaign dollars. So we might have gotten reform, but it would have been nothing but an open trough for insurers, sadly.

It's just fine to be "pissed off," but don't get carried away, and certainly not at Obama. Obama is NOT the probem. The problem is a Constitutional arrangement that gives a very unrepresentative body like the U.S. Senate so much power, and allows the minority to frustrate popular majorities. Obama is doing just fine. If Hillary had prevailed last year we'd still be going through this grinding process -- and Glenn Beck and Limbaugh would still be going ga-ga's on the airwaves.
As to needing an LBJ: nice thought but the world is a bit different from the mid 1960s -- I doubt if an LBJ could succeed in the new environment.
If you want to be pissed off about what's relevant, it would better to ask why no proposal includes a single payer system! The public option is a compromise to begin with. If you want a personality to be pissed off at, try that miserable rat Lieberman!
