Now it's the tire gauge. Republicans sit down with calculators to see if Obama had made a gaffe about inflated tires saving more oil than "they" are saying saying we'll gain through drilling. And yes! Obama is officially mistaken, let the taunts begin. The calculator contingent says the numbers were overwhelming. Never mind you don't know exactly who "they" are and how much that particular "they" are talking about drilling. Never mind that Obama was apparently using tire inflation as one example.
I swear, conservatives are so traumatized by eight years of Bush's gaffes and malaprops that they are hypersensitive to them now. Obama has only given 12,000 speeches and various talks this year (and that's a deliberate gaffe), he could use some rest, but at least he's not afraid to speak extemporaneously. McCain's campaign doesn't dare let him go without a teleprompter. They certainly aren't sensitive to McCain's gaffes.
Here's my suggestion: As we know that Republicans will give out tire gages at the convention, let's wear "tire gage" Obama buttons. That's a button that's attached to a tire gage. Since they put Obama's face on a hundred, let's give out and wear Obama bucks. We can take the things that they are doing and fire them right back.
