Even with a big win in Pa., math not on Clinton's side

WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton could win the battle but still lose the war.

The New York senator approaches Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary clinging to a small lead in the polls, poised to ride support from whites, women and working-class Democrats to a possible victory over Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

It may not be enough.

Even with a Pennsylvania win, she'll still trail in delegates and the nationwide popular vote as the Democratic presidential campaign enters the homestretch, a six-week rush that will give voters their last say in who wins the nomination.

1. The big question is what will happen if she wins by only single digits...

Will it be enough to prompt the fabled "party elders" to tell her "it's over?" I think it's pretty clear what will happen if she LOSES today.;)

The lengthening of this campaign does not work for Obama. He began his campaign as clean and new. He vowed not to get down into the gutter with mudslinging. That didn't last long. Obama flung the first volley of mud at Senator Clinton with the Punjab attack. It appears Obama is a hypocrite and a pathological liar. Trust him at your peril.

"The Punjab reference came from a joke Clinton made herself at a fundraiser hosted by an Indian doctor when she said "I can certainly run for the Senate seat in Punjab and win easily, after being introduced by Singh as the Senator not only from New York but also Punjab."
