I'm a sitting member on my local CA county Democratic Central Committee.
Anyone else out there across the land getting active in their counties?
Joining Democratic clubs & ccounty committees? Hope so!

Glad to see we are does of the word, not just preachers. Can't stand folks who compain but never try registering voters, won't do phone banking, or walk precincts, etc.
Walk must = talk.

2. I used to be, in the county. |

But they screwed me bad. Dissed me bad. Because I gave them a free website and ran it for free for them for three years. The way they wanted, too.
Some asshole state committeeman used me as a pawn in his feeble grasp for power.
They may now all go intercourse themselves.

5. I've had several souring experiences at the local level. Hell, all I want to do is answer phones or |
|
distribute flyers or something.
And, I have a resume chock full of managing large numbers of people to accomplish set goals, both in the military and out.
Plus, I'm hugely motivated.
Then, I run into, well, call this person, no call this person, I'm not sure how we can use you now, then, a call one hour before an event requesting my urgent help.
The grass roots level is full of political gamesmanship similar to the stuff that I already have to deal with at work. I think the DNC is finally recognizing that it needs to tap into average citizens' energy and make it at least a little easier to get involved.

At a party, over the holidays. I let them know, in no uncertain terms, why I have had enough. Do I care if it gets back to anyone? Not in the least.
The county party is dead to me. Besides, they are as useless as tits on a boarhog.
On edit: I have worked on two US congressional campaigns and one state assembly campaign. Fine experiences.

That someone who really cared about Dems and the party would run in this county. All we got now are aspiring machine bosses. The sad part is that they could barely operate a condom machine, much less a political machine.
