it's from sleeping on it funny, as you said. Sometimes takes a couple days for it to wear off though

I've gotten them on my ear once in a while. Although I usually get them on the scalp by the ear, where the glasses rub.

That might make things a bit sore, but the back of your ear wouldn't hurt anymore. There are always simple solutions to things. They aren't always GOOD solutions, but they are simple.
