6. Hum, hadn't thought about that. Will ATA also go away since there won't be any mods? |

Anyway, I think they've got their hands full with the conversion and it's a done deal. I sneaked over there one day and Skinner said there'd be no more all powerful mods and people would have more control over their forums. Whatever that means.
Hey, it's cool and rainy and the wind is howling nicely here. My kind of weather, makes me so grateful to have a roof over my head. What's up down south there?
That is, if you are down south...
And by the way, do you know what this icon means? :donut:
It always makes me want a donut. Sigh...

12. Dunno to where you are referring when you say "here" |
|
since your profile is blocked..if it is the PNW, I am very familiar with the weather there, and we are having same today down here in Alabama,( minus howling wind) which is a nice change. I miss rain at times, since moving here, it comes less often than in the NW, but crave the sun even more, so here I stay.:D
The donut/coffee ..have no real clue, have not seen it used in my wanderings thru the various forums.

13. PNW now, but grew up in the sunny south, near the Gulf. Both sides of my parents family were from AL |
|
They left looking for greener pastures in 'South America,' LOL. That would be coastal TX for those who hadn't heard that joke.
I love the rain, but the dark is forcing me to use those daylight lamps to keep from getting into a funk.
Also, the way the sun behaves up here... Wow, so much different. But I enjoy the seasons very much and the people as well.
I've had some good friends from AL, but don't anticipate going that way again. I only went there in the early seventies on the way to Washington, D. C. to do... You probably know...
It was a shock to go around a hill and see a huge billboard of George Wallace looking us in the face. Went on the interstate and saw a lot of beautiful woodlands.
But breakfast was good there in Birmingham, loved those grits. Got to D. C. and asked for grits with breakfast and they claimed they didn't know what grits were... I was introduced to hash browns.
I wish I had some of the old family pictures taken over a hundred years ago there in AL. All those men in their suits, the ladies in Victorian garb, and the porch with all that Victorian 'gingerbread' woodwork on it. I asked an Aunt about why no one, not anyone, was smiling. She said the women didn't have anything to smile about and with the beards you'd never see what the men thought.
I never knew my grandmother, who was from London. She died in childbirth and things didn't go great from there. My grandfather died a few years later and the siblings ended up taking care of each other during the Great Depression. They were union people, the ones I knew who'd moved to TX, and loved FDR.
The donut coffee thing is added to some people's posts but I don't know what they're trying to say. Maybe someone will know. It could mean something like, 'Nice chatting with you.' IDK, but it's been nice chatting with you.
