The NBA is back!!! My reaction is who the hell cares!!!
Edited on Sat Nov-26-11 05:36 PM by center rising
I guess those prima donna players couldn't handle missing their paychecks!! I, for one, wanted to see the lockout continue, that way ESPN couldn't obsess about the NBA and forget all the other sports going on. This sucks!!!

1. I don't care. I'm not a sports fan, so I could care less
if there was a baseball or football lockout.

4. Kinda of like those society pages where the rich and famous pick and choose who gets what.
Best to try these games as exercise in the neighborhood.

The stadium thing, while meant to bring people together in cities, is really just about the money, the owners screw the taxpayers coming and going.

I don't blame the players for negotiating hard, though. The living cartoon images paraded on television screens cause real damage to flesh and blood and bones and those guys can't work long.

It's just another form of bread and circuses. My apologies in advance to all of the guys who think this is significant and worthy of tax dollars. I'd rather fund social services with my tax money than sports and wars. It seems the same mentality exists in both.

Sorry, try to not hate me too much. My kid loves this stuff, BTW. It's an opportunity for male bonding with high fiving and yelling...

23. Union workers fighting with management.
Union workers fighting with management.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I imagine our support of union workers decreases in direct relation to the amount they may make. More's the pity as we focus less on the principle, and more on the divide (that divide being aptly illustrated in the words "they can screw themselves...")

I'd hazard some clever ad-copy guy in PR came up with that little tactic to continue and maintain the infighting amongst workers. Seems to work very well, too...

8. I care.
It's got a sizable economic impact.

Plus I like basketball - along with millions of American children.

It's a 10 year deal with the ability to opt out after 6.

Don't give me that thug crap.

15. I could give 2 shits
really a pox on both their houses. On the one hand you have a group of over paid crybabies with overinflated egos and on the other you have a group of fatcat billionaires with their hands in our pockets every 5 or 6 years for new arenas with luxury boxes.

18. The league is very profitable...
...but the owners still wanted the players to take a sizable financial hit. The blame lies with the owners, but the players should have known they were going to get the short end of the stick no matter what.

Jordan is now, and always has been, a selfish prick.

Did you notice they won't report for training until Dec. 9. Wth? Do they need all that extra time to insure clean drug tests? Lol

However, I am happy for the people who park the cars and sell hot dogs at the venues. They were the real victims/hostages here.
