I'm reading "Lady of Lunenburgh". It is a historical novel that follows the exact same immigration |

path a whole pile of my ancestors did in Nova Scotia. I feel like I'm there with my ancestors. The main character actually came over on the same ship many of my ancestors did at the same time. They were all german protestants that the British got to colonize Lunenburgh. I'm so thrilled and cannot wait to share this book with the rest of the family and I'm only on chapter 3.
Anyone else ever had the a moment like these with a book or anything.

I can imagine what a thrill it must be for you to read a novel whose characters follow the same paths as your ancestors did.
I've never had such an experience, but sometimes when I watch movies about the Salem witch trials, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and other historical events that I know some of my ancestors took part in, I'll imagine my ancestors as some of the movie characters. Silly, but I do it anyway. :-)

I read the book "Wolf Willow" by Wallace Stegner, who was a child in just the same area and at the same time. The stories of the blizzards and hardship paralleled what I had heard from family over the years. Brrrrrrrr!
