2. Sorry, I disagree with you. A bird within a bird-like reptile. |

Sounds like the world's first Turducken to me.

3. One of the most ecofriendly funeral rituals ever invented, excarnation, |

simply amounts to exposing the departed to birds. There are monumental ruins in the Near East of the pillars where this ceremony was performed.
Still not unknown in India.
If birds aren't picky, why should I be?

They take the body to a high mountaintop, and cut it up in a certain way so raptors can recycle it.
All in all, not a bad method, IMHO. Better than wasting resources putting the corpse in the ground "for all eternity" (which it won't be, maybe a few hundred years at best under most circumstances), or making a lot of greenhouse gases with cremation.
Personally, I wish they could just chop me up and put me in the compost pile when the time comes. I'd enjoy being spread on my garden. I bet I'd make awesome tomatoes and cabbages.

4. As a 20+ year vegetarian, that really doesn't change my mind. |

But I had never heard of that particular "pigeon". It looks like something that should be on a "Magic: The Gathering" card. Besides, people eat all kinds of weird shit that I wouldn't have touched even when I DID eat meat. And factory-farm birds hardly qualify as birds anymore. They wouldn't stand a chance in the wild. Just "food" for thought.
