"She can actually sing and play the piano" Gene Simmons said about the show.

1. Yea, she is actually really talented
as far as her vocals are concerned. She writes most of her own stuff (they say she writes all of it, but I am sure every artist gets a little help here and there), and she plays piano pretty well too.

Folks are free to say what they want about her, but she is more talented than most of the folks out there today.

I actually like when she just sits down, plays the piano and sings. Very good stuff.

And she's also a good activist for liberal causes.

2. My biggest complaint about Gaga...
...is that both her voice and schtick are overproduced. I've seen videos of her singing unaided, and she really is VERY good. Most people just never see it.

3. I haven't heard her unplugged
but her over-produced schtick combined with her pathological need for attention just plain creep me out

4. She's done acoustic numbers in both her SNL appearances.
I guarantee if you watch those, it will change your opinion of her. It changed mine.

6. Wow, really?
You think there's ANYONE in the music industry - or anywhere in entertainment, for that matter - who ISN'T an attention whore?

That's like saying that there isn't something inherently arrogant about anyone who thinks they should run for POTUS...

I don't have a fully formed opinion of lady Gaga. Hate the name. Hate the schtick. The songs are kinda earwormy, which means they catch, but occasionally burrow into the brain and destroy cells. Not so good I think.

I generally tend to avoid her and things about her.

10. I dunno.

There was a LG thread a while back that mentioned she used to be some one else.

However, it's the internet and I haven't really researched this. I *think* it's the same person who became Lady Gaga, because the internet says so, but you can't always trust the internet.

I just knew there was youtube video of the supposed pre-Gaga person and that it was acoustic piano and voice.

eta: You're worth the two minutes it took for me to find that. :D

11. You don't have to go back to her old music to find it.
She's done several of her newer songs acoustic as well. IMO, they sound much better. Here's a video of her performing Bad Romance with nothing but the piano under her fingers: http://youtu.be/CfQ9lhNiMIA

Some of her songs work better than others acoustically, but even with the bad ones, the quality of her voice usually shines through. It's a shame that it's normally so hard to hear.

Here's the acoustic version of Born This Way: http://youtu.be/aR4RLFtpv2w

15. I'm 73 and I really like Lady Ga-Ga's voice..
Haven't had a female singer I liked this much since Madonna - very similar voices. Both have courage and imagination - but Madonna's showing her age...
