Community canceled yet Rules of Engagement still on the TEEVEE.
It is mind blowing how a show like Rules of Engagement has out lived so many other TEEVEE series. Lie to Me, Detroit 187, Community, Human Target the list goes on and on. Thankfully for us TEEVEE viewers we have more than the old dinosaur networks. HBO and AMC put out far better programs and don't seem to axe them once you get into the characters. I guess David Spade must have photos of the network executives in compromising positions.

1. So Rules of Engagement is the new According to Jim
Still don't understand how that one stayed on the air, much less made it to syndication.

2. Well, Community is up against Big Bang Theory.
And BBT, like it or not, is very popular. It's all part of the insanity that is driven by Nielsen ratings.

Plus, Community has a very large ensemble cast, so it's got to be expensive to make.

8. Yeah, but nothing's up against anything on my DVR.
Of course, I don't watch the commercials so I don't count.

3. Rules of Engagement is a Joint Venture Between Adam Sandler's Production Co and CBS
So, CBS has a major stake in the show. That's why it's still on.

7. I found a bunch of articles that said it's "shelved" for now but will be back soon
Edited on Wed Nov-23-11 04:34 PM by Rob H.
Some of them said that a fourth season is iffy, but at least one NBC exec loves the show and wants to see it continue. I hope it comes back--I'd hate to see Community get the axe while Shitney Whitney lives on.

10. It's amazing the shows Nbc, Fox, Cbs, Nbc, cancel.
I have been trying to stick with AMC, and HBO, much better writing. My Top 3 from last year, Breaking Bad, Justified, and Sons of Anarchy.

11. Haven't seen Breaking Bad or Sons of Anarchy
Edited on Wed Nov-23-11 10:09 PM by Rob H.
but I absolutely love Justified. You're right, too, that it's unbelievable that the broadcast networks keep so many mediocre or outright bad shows on the air for years and gems like Community get treated like redheaded stepchhildren. :(

Edited to add: A friend of mine told me he was going to get me season 1 of Sons of Anarchy for my birthday, but that was over a month ago. Grr!

12. Breaking Bad is going to end next season which will be the 5th season.
Season 4 IMHO, has been the best yet, if you have netflix I highly recommend Breaking Bad.

14. Community is coming back either in spring and summer
but it's fate is uncertain.

What really BUMS me out is that Raising Hope is in trouble :-(
