25. Depp and Binoche-- alas, appreciated far more in France than here. But...

should you get a chance, rent, borrow, or steal the latter-- a great silly and hilarious farce.

(One of the French Presidents, I forget which, asked Binoche to be his mistress. She wisely refused, as she has refused shiny things dangled by Hollywood.)

And, I forgot to mention Bread and Chocolate-- not strictly about food, but a mrvelous little movie nonetheless.

At least for "The Wing and the Thigh". I've seen Cook, Thief, Wife, Lover; even have the soundtrack. I remember seeing it in the theater and that while it was compelling, it was still bizarre. The ending though... }(

34. I LOVE that movie! Can't believe I forgot it the first time. "Bad Baby Pie!"

I get teary every time that scene comes on where she's feeling so down, and Dr. Pomatter stops by her house, and her voiceover says "Dear Baby, I hope someday somebody wants to hold you for twenty minutes straight and that's all they do. They don't pull away. They don't look at your face. They don't try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness to it."
