The raw numbers were higher but the percentage of registered voters was lower. And even if turnout exactly matched 2008, that wouldn't be all that great because SC is an open primary, and in 2008 the Republicans had a competitive primary. So turnout in our primary should have been higher if anything than 2008, in terms of percentage of registered voters not just raw numbers.
