We are supposed to work out who is the best candidate through testing - policy, plans, energy, stamina, voter appeal. I am always interested in these issues, and in debate, although not in this stupid 1 minute format we have this year so that no questions can truly be answered except in watered-down sound bites.

Yes, the GOP will try to block a Dem president at every turn. That doesn't mean that you give up. You get the best presidential candidate you can, then everyone works to get them elected after the selection process (polite, angry, or otherwise) is finished. That's literally how it's supposed to work.

There are 2 congressional elections in the 1st term - 2020 and 2022. What, are you going to just give up on those? This is not a battle just for POTUS. This has to be a battle for POTUS, house, and senate.

Yes, inheriting Dump's mess is a poisoned chalice. But we CAN turn things around. Expecting we can do no more than stop a madman from doing worse is surrendering, where no surrender is merited.
