1. This is an excellent collection, albeit a sad one.

It is striking, even in this day and age, how many people believe these myths. I have met more than few men who don't believe they were abused because "they liked it." Even I thought that as well. To this date, I still don't "count" the sexual assault from a co-worker, because I was 17, knew what sexuality was, and "allowed" myself to be touched. I will be honest, until I read this, I hadn't thought about those encounters. I have discussed rape and sexual assault a number of times at DU and in real life, and that assault was so buried, it never was a part of my "story" until now. Isn't that strange?
