I agree entirely with what you are saying.

Some suicide attempts are a cry for help; it is certain that those attempts do not choose a firearm, a tall bridge, a speeding train, a massive fatal overdose. You can believe that it takes less determination for a person to shoot oneself than it does for that same person to die by a countless number of other methods - that is where I think your reasoning fails.
