It sounds like they were hit with pellets rebounding from the basement wall.

It could have been MUCH worse if one of the kids had taken a direct hit. A direct hit with a shotgun (even with "birdshot&quot at close range is extremely ugly!

The owner of the shotgun is obviously "a responsible gun owner" who didn't secure his shotgun responsibly. The owner of the shotgun needs to become a "former" owner of firearms!
