4. It's that his wife is doing the laundry and picking up the trash on the coffee table.

He, like so many men, acts as if the work gets done by itself, that someone is not constantly cleaning up after him. So she finally leaves him. It's about how men, and society, take women's work for granted, not even considering it to be real work.
