4. Our GDP per capita is over $50,000

That means that we produce $50,000 worth of goods and services for every person (that includes children, retired, unemployed) people in the United States. $50,000 a year is enough for someone to live comfortably. When we have a GDP per capita that high and we still have poverty, it's a distribution problem.
