spent years attacking him for being gay and for living abroad to be with his partner. They employed hateful, ignorant and reckless tactics without restraint and often with apparent pleasure. The willingness to use that tactic and those arguments utterly discredits those who come whining about Greenwald instead of countering a policy opinion. Watching them stammer around trying to find another foothold now that they are unable to employ the 'Greenwald is gay' trope is amusing.
Here is a classic 'Greenwal is gay' thread, note the utter lack of Greenwald critics who take exception to the tactic, to the McCarthyite tactic. 'I found out he's gay' and the 'critics' all snickered and the 'hosts' let it stand and eventually an admin took action....those who hate Greenwald were universally fine with attacking him for being gay and by extension smearing other gay people. So obviously I have zero respect for those who wail about the persons and not the issues.
