(3,072 posts)I have seen a lot of greatly trumped up accusations against her (no pun intended). Sure, there many at the DNC that clearly favored Clinton over Sanders but any accusation that they somehow stole the election from Sanders is ridiculous. Sanders was clearly a throne in their sides, especially late in the primaries and some expressed their grievances in private emails but the idea that they somehow greatly swayed the primaries in Clinton's favor lacks any evidence.
With that said though, DSW was a god awful DNC chairwoman. She did nothing to help the democrats in 2014 and overall, she was rather incompetent. In addition, it was obvious that she was at least quietly rooting for Clinton, which is no surprise, since she has been friends with Clinton for years. However, at the same time, the evidence that the DNC was in the bag for Clinton and sabotaged Sanders is extremely weak to nonexistent.
I'm glad she is gone but the mastermind behind Clinton rise, she was not. The odds that Sanders was going to win the nomination were always fairly low. It shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone that a very popular figure within the Democratic Party was heavily supported by members of that party, early on and that an outsider, that was not a member of the party until this year, was more likely to face steep odds in wresting that support from Clinton.
