(5,648 posts)You will have to do better than that BS.
It is matter of where reasonable Sanders supporters draw the line separating what actions by other other Sanders supporters will defend and which they, of necessity, have to condemn.
Let's take some actual situations which have come up during the primary season:
Obviously most of you defend the hurling verbal insults at Nevada Democratic officials by Sanders supporters when they believed Bernie had been cheated? So that much has been established.
How about rushing the stage in what could be interpreted in a threatening manner? Okay, based on the replies to this post I guess that would be in the affirmative as well though many would argue whether rushing the stage was "threatening".
Okay, how about those who some refer to as "Bernie Bros" insulting people on line? We never got an answer on that one. Was that okay.
How about those Sanders supporters who harassed super delegates who didn't agree to change their votes to Sanders? Now putting aside from the fact that this obviously stupid tactics, would you defend their actions.
Now what about those who abused the DU alert system to tried to shut down opposing view points by alerting on Hillary supporters, even in the Hillary Group, whenever they posted anything unflattering about Sanders? And what about those who then voted to hid even innocent remarks to try to rid the board of the most active Hillary supporters? Do you defend those people to simply because "they are on your side".
And lastly the original question: Is it okay for Sanders supporters to call and leave hundreds of threatening message ons the phones of Nevada Democratic officials, some of which threaten their lives and their children and grandchildren? It's a simple question do you defend the people who did that or do you condemn their actions?
And before you ask, if any Clinton supporters did any of the things listed above I hereby condemn those actions unequivocally. I would not want such people associated with my candidate.
Now it is your turn - some of your fellow supporters do not properly represent the good man who is Bernie Sanders. That much is abundantly clear. The question is whether the respectable supporters like yourself defend their actions out of blind loyalty or have the guts to say, "No, they are not with us!"
