In reply to the discussion: How do you think Sanders could fit into a Clinton Administration? [View all]CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)gracious, humble and compassionate throughout this nightmare-from-Brock-hell Clinton campaign.
Bernie has been accused of being a racist, a sexist, someone who condones the killing of Sandy Hook kindergarteners. Bernie has watched his faithful supporters being mocked and called "Bernie Bros" as a political ploy--just as Hillary coined the "Obama Boys" slur to damage her 2008 opponent.
Bernie has listened to David Brock speak for the Clinton Campaign and say, "Black lives don't matter much to Bernie Sanders"--a sick attack made even before the Iowa caucuses happened and Bernie had a chance to campaign in more diverse states.
Bernie has watched his invitation to the Vatican be attacked, mocked and lied about incessantly--with every lie being debunked by witnesses and Vatican officials who were there.
"Bernie wasn't invited!", "Bernie won't be speaking!", "Bernie will be speaking but only for five minutes before a coffee break!", "There will be no meeting with the Pope!", "The Pope is leaving town to avoid Bernie!" 150 negative threads started on DU alone, spreading these stupid lies.
All debunked--with nothing more than reality playing itself out. So many awful, horrible situations like this!
I would say that Bernie has behaved in a Ghandi-like fashion as he's been dealing with such vile, mean, inhumane behavior.
"I'm sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails." --A kindness from a man who refused to politicize a legitimate FBI scandal--while the Clinton camp pulls the deprived, lying schemes that she has for months!!
Bernie Sanders may not be Ghandi--but he sure as hell has been grace under fire; and he sure has hell has tried to run an issue-oriented campaign because he ultimately cares about people, their problems and this country.
