(17,045 posts)This is about policy. We're not voting for prom court.
Regarding a contested convention, Bernie is saying what we, his supporters, are asking him to say. He's doing this because we need him. He's serving us.
It's time for a seriously contested convention. The people do not have a party that represents our interests. Both parties use social issues to keep us locked in battle while our legislative process, empirically, does not respond in any measurable way to the concerns the electorate. The social issues that we liberals are all supposed to be united in caring about will always be in jeopardy as long as their peril delivers our obedience to entrenched party leaders. We must show courage and defiance for the sake and soul of the party and country. We must be brave enough to pull ourselves out of this trap. I really can't for the life of me figure out why people are defending the trap.
I will be demonstrating in Philly to hold Bernie's feet to the fire and make sure he fights for every last delegate vote.
