(6,348 posts)18. Given the state of washington, and Hillary as opponent, I neither want nor expect Senate endorsement
I would expect the incumbents to go for the more senior Dem politician, but that doesn't mean that Sanders isn't the superior candidate in terms of his positions, which is mostly all I or most people care about. Sanders could be JFK or the greatest potential president to ever live and I would still expect Senate official endorsements to be exactly as they are. It's not really a slam on Sanders it is recognition of Clinton's insider status / more work for the party itself.
The same does not apply any longer to Cruz. There is no current or former Senator in the race to compete with CRUZ for endorsements. So of course he is getting a couple from people who absolutely denounced him before.

OP
Actually, the pledged delegate count is stopping Bernie from getting anywhere near the Presidency.

Exactly. It's telling that none of his Senate colleagues have endorsed him. Compare this with 2008

Bernie has been in Congress for 1/4 century and has no allies in the Senate?

Agreed. And Bernie now says he doesn't expect to get his agenda through in a first term.

I think the PTB hoped Trump's neofascism would actually make corporatism seem appealing

I thought Bernie was supposed to drive turnout to historic levels in the primaries

Are you misinformed or deliberately misleading? New Hampshire was a primary, Oklahoma was a primary,
