history when GHW Bush raised taxes (oops!); and 2) there was a bad recession during which he VETOED extension of unemployment benefits and THE VERY NEXT WEEK he signed off on guaranteed loans to Israel to the tune of $5 Billion.

I was out of work briefly during that time, and I recall how I felt about that, can't forget it.
