Playing with Tantalum. [View all]

I shared this video with my son, the nuclear materials scientist, and although he's extremely busy as he enters into the process of writing his thesis, he took time to watch it, and loved it.

(My son's focus is metallurgical; his Masters degree involved welds.)

It's walking through a machine shop with some pure tantalum metal. (Tantalum, on which devices like cell phones depend, is considered one of the critical elements.)
