About Trump agreeing with WABC host Sid Rosenberg that Doug Emhoff [View all]

is a "crappy" and "horrible Jew" yesterday morning . . . .

It's bad enough when you have Jews defining other Jews as "bad Jews," IOW, not Jewish enough and don't deserve respect.* It's even more heinous to have a gentile (non-Jew) define who's a "good Jew" and a "bad Jew". Does that mean the "bad Jews" should be subject to antisemitism and the others left alone? We deserve to be targeted because we don't follow a uniform practice of Judaism? We have moral failings just because we don't fit into the pigeon hole that someone else constructed?

It's reprehensible as well as distasteful.

* My family went through that growing up. We started in a reformed temple and "progressed" to a conservative temple. Clearly, the congregation of the latter synagogue didn't accept us. We weren't pious enough; we weren't sincere Jews. It was more than we ate bacon. They made a judgment and we felt separated from the rest of them.
